Sexes view design different

The University of Glamorgan has found that men and women have different preferences for design… duh… But what is amazing is that the effectivity and appearance of a website is also being influenced by that, and that might mean that sites don’t reach the 51% female web-users as efficient as they could be.The statistics are complicated, but there is no doubt about the strength of men and women’s preference for sites produced by people of their own sex

One of the problems is ofcourse that the vast majority of developers is male, and that hiring more female designers isn’t the solution since that will scare the males away. Perhaps every design team should have at least one woman for that female touch? Or should we use more fancy colors?
